CWLI Gives Back: Introducing Our Virtual Angel Tree

‘Tis the season! Not of sugarplums and Santa, but of giving and thinking of others before ourselves. Many of us already approach the holiday season by donating time and money, and there are many causes, organizations, and initiatives worthy of your time and attention. This year, CWLI wants to join in this narrative and provide you with with extra ways to give. We’re partnering with three local organizations that are making a difference in our community.

Join us this holiday season by participating in our own Virtual Angel Tree.

The Organizations

The Next Door

The Next Door Chattanooga is a facility that uses a Christ-centered compassionate care approach to services and programming built to help women impacted by addiction, mental illness, trauma, and/or incarceration. The Next Door has a team of professionals and volunteers – from counselors and case managers to nurse practitioners and job coaches – who work to help women through this stage of life as they try to get their lives back on track.

How to Give

  • Online Donation:
    • Give a monetary gift through the organization’s online donation page here.
  • Amazon Wish List:
    • Like many organizations, The Next Door Chattanooga has an Amazon Wish List. When you make a purchase, the items are automatically delivered to The Next Door.
  • CWLI Office Drop Off:
    • For those who prefer to buy in person, we will have a box in our CWLI headquarters downtown to collect physical items you may purchase. Maranda Wilson, regional assistant director, said hygiene products and other toiletries are in constant demand. (Note: Bath & Body Works is a popular treat for residents.) Long distance national calling cards, pens, colored pencils, stationery, and stamps are also appreciated. (Wilson did ask us to please note that items that contain alcohol in the first 3 ingredients are not permitted to be in the possession of clients.)

Partnership for Families, Children, and Adults

With a focus on putting family first and building connections, The Partnership for Families, Children and Adults has been an integral part of the Tennessee Valley community for 136 years. Their services include professional counseling, crisis intervention, and prevention. Volunteers are the backbone of this organization and they are grateful for gifts provided by community members like you.
