Leadership Luncheon: A Call for Intersection
About this Leadership Luncheon: During our time together we will hear from Marie Webb, EPB Chief Talent and Inclusion Officer, and Sarah Marquez-Berestecky, anti-racism educator and facilitator with ARCC, who have agreed to be interviewed by Donna Elle Harrison.  The luncheon is designed to identify barriers to intersectionality, define what it means for our region, and explore our role as women in cultivating platforms for intersection between people of diverse backgrounds. We will hear from some amazing women about their experiences and learn what allyship between women can and should look like. We will be hosting this event in the Double Tree ballroom. Signs will be provide onsite to direct you to the ballroom. About the panel: Marie Webb | EPB Senior VP Human Resources and Chief Talent & Inclusion Officer Marie Webb is responsible for leading Human Resources initiatives in the areas of corporate culture, HR administration, compensation, employee training, and development. Webb joined EPB in 2009, bringing 15 years of human resources experience at the Staples Corporation, the Social Security Administration, and Premier Manufacturing. Originally from Ohio, Marie received her Bachelor’s degree from Denison University in Granville, Ohio and her Master’s Degree in Human Resource Development from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. Marie participated in Harvard Business School’s Young American Leaders Program, which brings together leaders from across the country to study and explore community collaborations.  In addition to her degrees, she holds numerous Human Resources and behavioral certifications. Marie is a former member of the First Things First Board of Directors (former Board Chair) and the Public Education Foundation. She is presently on boards for the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga, and See Rock City and serves as a Trustee on the UC Foundation at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. Helping others identify, strengthen, and use their God-given talents to inspire change is Marie’s true passion. Marie and her husband, Aaron, have three daughters and love calling Chattanooga “home.”  Sarah Marquez-Berestecky | Co-Founder/Lead Facilitator for ARCC. Vice-Chairperson for CALEB Born and raised in Texas, Sarah is a third-generation Mexican-American/Chicana who grew up navigating the borderlands of living as a light-skinned Latina in America. Her engagement with Be the Bridge to Racial Unity inspired her to develop ARCC after relocating to Chattanooga. Her anti-racist work is closely tied to her efforts as a nationally trained community organizer. Sarah is married to her husband, Jonathan. Together they have three children Sophia, Elijah, and Willow who surprise them with humor that keeps everyone laughing while also holding it down with real talk of justice. As a self-declared introvert you can find Sarah taking a break from people watching Netflix, reading a provocative book, or blasting Mariachi in the house. About the Moderator: Donna Elle Harrison | Director of Culture Tourism for Chattanooga Tourism & Radio Personality for Brewer Media Group Donna Elle Harrison can say with conviction she has been called to help others realize their personal worth and invest in themselves. With more than 20 years of experience in the public eye as a radio host and television personality, and women’s advocate, Donna Elle has reached out to and helped people from all walks of life. She is from Chattanooga and a graduate of CSAS. At the age of 13 she became a teen reporter for Power 94 and was hired as a full-time radio personality and pursued a career in television at WRCB-TV as a reporter and Host. Donna has 20 years of experience leading teams in Marketing, Brand Awareness and Media Relations. Donna is currently with Chattanooga Tourism Co. as the Director of Cultural Tourism and a Radio personality for Brewer Media Group. 10 years ago, she worked hard to achieve a goal that she is very proud of, losing 100lbs and being featured in Ebony magazine. She owns Donna’s D.I.V.A.s workout classes, is a Public Speaker and author of Smokin Cookies. Donna volunteers and sits on the boards of several organizations and is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. Her proudest accomplishment is her young man Brandon. She loves her hometown community and enjoys bringing out the best in others.
