Meet the chair of CWLI’s IMPACT committee, Julie Brandao. Fresh off the Financial Empowerment Series in October, Julie switched gears to focus on IMPACT 2016. The event takes more than a year to plan and execute, and Julie and her team have been hard at work to secure talent, organize event details and raise awareness of the guest speaker.

How many IMPACT events have you attended? Julie Brandao DKH_1856a
I’ve attended nine – Wilma Mankiller, Gloria Steinem, Lisa Earle McLeod, Ruth Brinkley, Stacey Alliison, Sheila Bair, Mae Jemison, Connie Chung, Susan Packard.

What inspired you to become involved in the management of the event?
I have been a CWLI member for nine years and have served as chair of almost every committee, so serving as chair of IMPACT was a natural step. I believe in the mission of this group, so it is rewarding to serve in all areas.

What do you see as the value of the annual IMPACT event to members and nonmembers alike?
This event allows those who are members, guests, friends, male and female to gather to celebrate what women bring to leadership. I believe all in attendance will be inspired by something they hear.

What are you most looking forward to with this year’s keynote speaker?
I look forward to hearing our speaker discuss how women bring something different to the table and how we all have much we can contribute.

We’re only a few weeks away from IMPACT 2016! Will you be there? Buy your tickets here!
