CHATTANOOGA WOMEN’S LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE (CWLI) ANNOUNCES ANNUAL GAME CHANGEHER PROGRAM COHORT IN PARTNERSHIP WITH CHATTANOOGA GIRLS LEADERSHIP ACADEMY (CGLA)

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (JULY, 2023) — CWLI is pleased to announce the newest Game ChangeHer class of 2024, CWLI’s immersive mentor training program. The 9 month program provides research-based personal and professional curriculum that strengthens the skills and abilities of women. Participants will leave the program with a specialized set of tools to effectively serve in mentoring and leadership positions. After participants work through a module, they will be paired as mentors with young ladies from Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy (CGLA) to apply their knowledge in real time. The program will run from August 2023 and will conclude with a graduation ceremony in May 2024.

Now in its fifth year after being revised in 2019, the program has graduated around 60 mentors and 125 mentees to date. Prior to this iteration, the former Women Mentoring Women program graduated more than 200 women during its ten year run.

“Game ChangeHer gives participants the opportunity to develop leadership skills from multiple angles and benefit from a variety of perspectives”, said Meghan Greene, CWLI’s Executive Director.  “Participants gain insight from local leaders, collaborate with members of their cohort, and apply their skills through direct mentorship. As a graduate of the program, I can honestly say that we learn as much from the girls at CGLA as they do from us.”

This year’s thirteen participants include: Ashley Brown (BCBST), Cynthia McBride (Girl Scouts of Southern Appalachian), Eleanor Scarbrough (The Enterprise Center), Hana Karrar Ramirez (Chattanooga Housing Authority), Hannah-Claire Boggess (Chambliss Law), Jessica Cardenas (Sentri-Roofing), Jessicca Dwelley (Southern Champion Tray), Kimberly Gregg (Volunteers of America), Madeline Burgess (6 Strong Media), Olivia Young (HHM), Stephanie Goodman (EPB), Tenasa Lucas-McGhee (Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga Area), and Tina Wyatt (RockPoint Bank).

Game ChangeHer is an incredible program for developing leadership skills that can unlock transformative relationships with others and with ourselves. I loved participating in the program so much that I jumped at the chance to continue my involvement as a committee member and then as chair. The women who step forward for Game ChangeHer inspire me to find new and meaningful ways to give back to our community, and this year’s cohort is no different,” said Liz Norell, Chair of the 2023-24 Game ChangeHer Committee and 2021 Alum.
